Here are this weeks assembly songs to practice.

Ice Skating

We get to go iceskating this term and it is awesome fun. We found it quite tricky on our first time but now we are really getting the hang of it.

Our New Mate Bill

We had a wooly little visitor pop into our class today. Meet Bill the Lamb.

Felix and his family are looking after Bill for a few weeks until he is big enough to go back to the farm. Bill's mum had triplets which is one to many lambs for a sheep to look after.

Matariki with our Buddies

Today we completed the third and final stage of our Jackson Pollock inspired art. 

We wrapped boxes and stacked them to create the stairway to heaven from Maori myths. The students asked if they could turn the story into a play so in just a couple of hours they wrote a script, created props, cast parts and rehearsed to perform in our school assembly.

It was pretty epic. Mrs Winders and Mrs Voyce were very impressed with the kids. 

May The 4th Be With You

I can't imagine a more perfect day to launch our Space Unit than May the 4th!

After watching some videos about what astronauts eat while on missions, we all ate Spaceman ice cream to launch us into our space unit.

We Won!

At the end of last term we took turns to work on our collaborative entry into the Real Journeys colouring competition. We used crayons and dye, collage, sand, glitter and self portraits to create our A1 size masterpiece which won our whole class a trip to Walter Peak on the Earnslaw!

We are so lucky to have Mrs Thomas join us in Room One. We know she will be just as awesome as Mrs Russel has been.
